Pastor Phil Young is in the midst of a sermon series entitled "Fireproof Your Relationships" Today's sermon was on parasites in a relationship - a parasite being anything which taps into your life and takes away life from the health of the relationship. Common parasites...anything which would fall into the category of an idol...or anything which could be followed by "-aholic".It made me want to stand up and offer my testimony. "I know what a parasite can do to you. It can decimate your faith, cost your career, and almost destroy your marriage relationship. BUT GOD..." Those are my two favorite words in the Bible...I'll share more along those lines soon.
I just think its kind of cool that my first "regular" post as a worship leader since leaving ministry to get things back on track is at "The Place of New Beginnings". God is indeed oh so good!

Isn't it awesome how when God orchestrates our lives, He uses all of the parts of us (the good, the bad and even the really ugly junk we'd rather not mention) to touch lives????
You know, Kev... I have some REALLY ugly junk in my own closet, too... (some you may or may not know about. Maybe someday we'll talk about that. All in God's timing, though.) We all do... but when we are real before the Lord, I've found that He can use even the ugly junk to help rub healing ointment onto the hearts of those who are hurting...
Very COOL on the new beginning! CONGRATULATIONS, BRO!!!! I am very proud of you...
Love you guys! (Please send my love to Rita and the boys.)
This is a beautiful post! You and Rita are a blessing to so many! :)
I was studying, preparing to teach last week and ran across a writing in Randy Alcorn's book "Heaven". I was encouraged when I read a passage on "re" (again).
God never gives up on us or this world. Randy points out all the "re" words: reconcile, redeem, restore, recover, return, regenerate, resurrect. Each of these words, he says, demonstrate that God seeks to use what he created and make it what it should be, not destroy and create again.
God tells us in His word of "In the beginning...", then for the rest of the Bible His plan to "re".
What an awesome God that "re"stores instead of "de"stroys. How great is His love toward us?
Amazing Grace, for sure
Wow...thanks Billy for those great words of God's value for us...yes, amazing!
Kevin,
You, Rita, and family are in my prayers. I love you brother! It is so awesome to see you stand up against the powers of Satan and claim the holy name of our Lord to defeat him. I pray the God will use you in mighty and powerful ways at this church. Thank you for allowing yourself to continue to be used by Him.
BTW, I was just going through my iTunes played Neil Diamond's America...
Love you guys,
Malvin
